OUR MEET IS TUESDAY + Marlins Minutes from our Meet & Upcoming

Hello Marlins,

We put another meet in the books last week. We were outnumbered by quite a bit for the second week in a row and the overall result was a loss but we had fun, won some events and set some new benchmarks and goals so we can finish strong on this coming Tuesday. We are 2-2 & St. Marlo are 2-2 so we need to dig deep and get the win. It's important we avoid missed events and disqualifications so be sure to tell your swimmers to ask their coach any questions they have about how to do legal swims and be sure we're on top of the swimmers at the meet so they are lined up on time with their "gameface" on and ready to go.

We did have some more records broken and some more kids hit point markers....   but as always, let's take care of some housekeeping notes first...

I want to thank all the volunteers - we couldn't do it without you all.

  • We are short 20 volunteers for this week's meet. One of the most important positions still open is Deck Manager - we need those filled. Remember, the home meets require a lot more help including parents with multiple swimmer(s) need to cover multiple shifts for the math problem to work.  Please go sign up under Meets & Events for open volunteer shifts...
  • After our Tuesday Meet we have our Marlinbration party 10am Thursday at our Longlake Pool. Please RSVP with the posted evite.
  • We will have practice Wednesday and Thursday for those going to the Championship Meet at Georgia Tech on Friday - we'll confirm times tomorrow.
  • It will be an early arrival Friday morning to Georgia Tech - I'll be sending out a lot of details over the next couple of days but as far as arrival goes be thinking in the 7am time frame - we are the first team to enter and practice. Good news is we will be ahead of the majority of the morning commute traffic.

And now, the fun meet details...

We again want to give a special team player thanks to the many swimmers who "swum up" into older age groups and filled in for our age groups that have low numbers for this season. Times keep improving for all our swimmers, not just those who get listed below - it shows how great every member of the team is doing and it's exciting to see the progress. Keep it up Marlins!

We have a total of 45 swimmers who have reached 10 or more points this season, 28 have reached 20 points, 10 have surpassed 30 points, and 4 have surpassed 40 points.
