It's time to announce the LONGLAKE MARLINS who have made the FORSYTH COUNTY TIDE SWIM TEAM...

This is an even more special announcement this year for a few reasons - I have been a Tide Board member for a few years and this year the Tide selected 3 coaches, two of them come from our Longlake Marlins, Alyssa Knopp and your Forsyth Tide Head Coach Christian Reaume [and I didn't participate in the vote ; ) ] In addition to the involvement of the three of us on this State Team, the team was selected based from our results at Georgia Tech yesterday and our Longlake Marlins have the third most kids on the State Team - that's incredible representation, especially from one of the smaller teams, and something we all should all be very proud of accomplishing.

Hello and Congratulations on making the Forsyth County TIDE State Swim Team. My name is Chenin Kemmerlin and I am the president of the FoCo TIDE Board. The TIDE is considered a secondary season or "post-season" for our summer swimmers, and so as part of this new team, we have a lot to share with you. We ask that you take time to read all the way through this email for a lot of pertinent information. 

FoCo Swimmer Registration:  We should all be so proud of our county's swimmers. We couldn't be more excited about this competition. There are 145 swimmers that comprise the 2022 FoCo TIDE team! ACTION REQUIRED: You will need to log onto https://focotide.swimtopia.com and register no later than this Tuesday, July 5th. We are super pressed to get our shirt orders in timely due to the distribution delays everywhere and the registration process collects those sizes! There are two payment options you will see on the site. 

Practices:  Practice begins Monday, July 11th at the Grand Cascades Pool. (address: 199 Rivergate Dr., Suwanee, GA 30024).  Practices for 11 and older are from 7:30 am to 9 am. 10 and unders are from 9-10 am. If your child swims for a club team, they do not have to attend regular practices; however, they are required to attend relay practices. Our TIDE Head Coach this year is Christian Reaume and our Assistant coaches are Jaedyn Krupit and Alyssa Knopp. Regular practice days are: July 11-15th and July 18-21st.. Relay Practices - MANDATORY for all swimmers are Wednesdays: July 13th and July 20th. Make notes in your calendars NOW so that your swimmer doesn't miss out. (if there is a conflict with these relay days please let me know asap and we'll access the situation)

GRPA State Meet @ Cherokee Aquatic Center - 1200 Wellstar Way, Canton,GA30114) Friday, July 22nd (10 and unders, prelims in morning and finals in the afternoon) Saturday, July 23rd (11 and older, prelims in the morning and finals in the afternoon) If you make finals, you must return for finals! NO Exceptions! 

Birth Certificates: GRPA requires proof of eligibility by age. The TIDE must submit a copy of each swimmer's birth certificate by July 10th with our state rosters. You must email [email protected] a scanned copy of the certificate. If you don't have a scanner you can use your notes app, Scannable App or Genius App. If your child's birth certificate is not provided in time, your swimmer will NOT be allowed to compete. This is a GRPA state rule. 

Communications: We will communicate to our TIDE families based on the emails given in registration on our https://focotide.swimtopia.com account. We also have a FB account that you should join: Forsyth County TIde (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ForsythTideSwim) 

SWAG:  We are working on ordering T-Shirts and Caps for each and every TIDE swimmer and Coach. The Towels are optional as they have been in recent years. Stay tuned for that information as we continue to try and secure a vendor that can locate the product in a timely manner. Once they are ready for ordering we will post in our website, FB page and send an email.
