Marlins practice tomorrow in age group sessions

Hello Marlins,

We're back to it tomorrow! After a great week of dryland practices that finished with a fun-filled Thursday with 63 swimmers, it's now time to get some chlorine in our hair ; ) . The plan is to be in the pool starting tomorrow. We are no longer in one big group - The time of each age group practice is below and the link to the practice schedule tab of our website is also below.

Details on things we are giving attention to for this week, specifically tomorrow:

  • Pool Condition - the pool is good to go and has been for a couple of weeks as far as chemical balance and safety, water looks great. But the repair schedule means the heater has not been running as long as we had hoped. The solar warmer covers have been on the pool since mid-last week. My scientific "hand thermometer" test I did last week found the water to be warmer than expected. All that being said, the water is normally a bit cooler than we like the first couple of days and I would expect with the heater issue we should expect it to feel a bit chilly. So, practice WILL run, but if it's cold the coaches will consider getting the kids out of the water a bit early, we won't overreact to some swimmers whining a bit that they're cold, but we definitely want to be sure they are safe, and we don't want to make anyone miserable. We will be more sensitive to how the younger age groups are doing with it - we know they may have a harder time if they are chilly. If you have a swimmer that you know gets cold easy then be sure to bring an extra towel and maybe a sweatshirt or even a change of clothes for them to get into as soon as we're done.
  • Weather - looks like we're in good shape tomorrow and the patchy rain that may be around early afternoon should be cleared out by 4; but, if it's still lingering.... When questionable weather is in the area but it's not a complete "wash out" then we will determine each age group's practice by session - so for example, the 4 o'clock practice could be cancelled but we would have the 4:45 session - don't make any assumptions; we will keep you updated.... How? It's not easy to send emails out for this type of frequent communication; so, we use Facebook to keep you updated and the Swimtopia messaging system. So that being said, if you have not done it yet, DOWNLOAD THE SWIMTOPIA APP ON YOUR PHONE AND TURN ON THE NOTIFICATIONS - we won't spam you and no other company has access to using the notifications - we use it for quick turn communciation only, which usually is weather related.
We look forward to seeing our Marlin family on the deck tomorrow! Don't forget to bring energy, good attitude, goggles, towels, additional clothing needs, and some water. Monday, May 8th - Thursday May 25th (practices are Mon-Thur unless a change is announced)
